CAT15 support Module
This Support Module is built into a CAT15 shell. Two slow speed water cooled diesel generators sit atop three 850 gallon tanks making 2,550 gallons of fuel under the floor. Cooling and combustion air is filtered by 4 MCAS600 Air Filters that supply breathing quality air in a NBC environment. These filters can be located in other modules so fresh filtered air is moved throughout the complex. Generator exhaust and cooling air are mixed to reduce the thermal signature and prevent detection by ground and airborne target acquisition equipment. This module provides 20 KW of of AC power to other shelters in the complex with one generator in reserve. It also has 39 batteries that are charged by the generator for DC power throughout the complex. Well water is usually brought in to this module and filtered before distribution. Generator power runs the major AC appliances also located in the support module and the well pump. Shelterists enter through this unit and are decontaminated before entering the rest of the complex. Exhaust and cooling air are mixed to avoid thermal signatures by ground and airborne target acquisition equipment.
