Earthcom 18 Shelter The Earthcom 18 is a tornado and hurricane resistant earth bermed structure. It can be used as a garage, storage shed, or animal shelter. Each structural fiberglass beam forms a 180-degree arch that is 2 feet wide and spans 18 ft. and forms the roof and wall. The structure can withstand an 8.5 Richter Scale earthquake. Flying debris will not penetrate the earth berm. The end walls are assembled on site using conventional framing methods. Each arch requires approximately two man-hours to assemble and stand up. The Earthcom 18 requires at least 10 arches with a maximum of 50 arches (100 feet long).

The inside can be finished using conventional framing and insulation. Each 2 foot wide arch weighs 400 pounds and has a 9 foot inside radius and a 10 foot outside radius. The structure was specifically designed for 12 or 36 inch earth cover plus a 120 lbs/ft2 snow load. The Earthcom 18 has no gutters to clog, no parapet retaining walls, no Shelter from storms, bombs, chemicals and fallout fascia boards or soffits, requires no painting, and can be seeded with natural vegetation or grass. The Multi-Chamber Air Sterilization can be used as a life support system if the structure is to be used for biological-chemical warfare.
