Viral Cocooning, is a term and mechanical system developed by Radius Engineering Int'l in response to the possibilities of chemical, biological and viral warfare. Viral Cocooning is a way of living in a house or structure completely isolated from society while able to work and maintain ones profession.

Viral Cocooning requires the following four elements.

1. Air filtration System to remove or kill all airborne biological, chemical, viral, bacterial, and mold agents. This system must operate 24 hours per day and maintain positive pressure inside the structure. This requirement is met by using the MCAS-80 (multiple Chamber Air Sterilization) filter to sterilize all the air in the whole house or structure.

2. Independent Energy System to supply electricity for the air filtration system, all facilities in the home such as water pump, lights, refrigerator, television, radio etc. to allow the shelterists or cocoonists to live relatively normally "off the power grid" for 3-12 months and work at their profession while cocooned or isolated. The requirement is met using the SCUPP 400 or SCUPP 2000 LT (Self Contained Underground Power Plant) Long Term. This unit consists of an underground generator, with a double wall fuel tank, battery bank, battery charger, inverter.

3. Product Sterilizer to irradiate all food, money and mail entering the cocooned structure.

4. Organized System of training and practicing good hygienic practices in the house. Decontaminate door knobs, keyboards, pens, clothing, etc. See Viral Cocooning Operator's Manual.
